The First Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the death bells for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform for the first time. The past year represented complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with quality releases on its key platform.
The Current Inclusions
The two games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Robust Selection of Games
All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are rock solid. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
